Getting to know Figma & UI Design

Over the last few months, I have been preparing for a new role at Code for Africa (CFA). I have been developing skills in Figma and working on small UI designs while continuing to help my team with data visualisations.

I am happy to announce that as of May 2022, I am a new UI Designer at CFA. I will be designing the user interface of digital tools and civic technology using Figma.

I am excited about this position and even more keen to master Figma and solve new challenges in the world of UI. However, it will mean that I spend less time making creative data visualisations and consequently write fewer articles about them.

To become better at Figma, I will try to follow a tutorial and write short articles about solutions, plugins or tips I find and learn.

Some content might seem simple to seasoned Figma users and UI designers. However, I do hope that it will inspire some interaction. Perhaps there is a better way to solve a problem or create a design I haven’t considered? Maybe there is a helpful plugin or an update on Figma that is more efficient?

When it comes to Figma, there is no shortage of things to learn! So please do follow, comment and let me know what you think of the articles.

Ciao for now!
